How do I add, change or remove a rule?

Open the project, choose the Rules tab, choose the tab the rule belongs to, Staging or Production, and click Add rule at the right of the bar: the rule goes to the chosen tab.

The New rule window, for example New rule ยท Production, asks only for a Title, required, such as Never change the payment module by hand, and the Rule itself, a free text on several lines that says what agents must always do, or never do, there; there is no category, environment, priority or evidence to choose.

Click Save, or press Enter in the title or Ctrl+Enter anywhere (Esc cancels). When the SyncNow server's AI check finds that the rule repeats or contradicts another rule of the same section or an open plan, the window shows it and the button becomes Save anyway; otherwise the rule is saved at once, and the page says, for example, Rule added. It applies from now on: agents follow it before every change on production. The title can be up to 200 bytes of text and the rule up to 8,000.

To change or remove a rule, click it and use Edit or Remove at the bottom of its panel. Edit opens Edit rule with its title and text, and the rule stays in its tab; saving without changes writes nothing. Remove asks to confirm: agents no longer follow the rule, and its history stays in the project journal. The owner and the managers can change the Rules; if someone changed the project while you were editing, nothing is saved and the page reloads so you can check and try again. Never type passwords or keys in a rule: see Can I write my database password or API keys in a rule?.
