What do the numbers in Insights mean?

Insights, called Statistics before version 13.2.49.71, shows how the project is going: whether it moves forward, what is stopped and what is waiting for someone.

At the top you choose Overview or Contributors; there is no period to choose: the whole page covers the whole history of the project, and the line beside the tabs says from when, for example Since 12 Jul 2026. The numbers at the top, the map of days, the Planning trend, the releases, the superseded decisions and the Contributors list count from that day, as whole days in your local time, while Blocked, the decisions waiting, the states of Planning and Conversations say how things stand right now.

Overview starts with four numbers in one line, or two by two in a narrow window: relevant changes, files touched, shown smaller and in grey because it is a secondary number and not a measure of progress, active days (days with at least one relevant activity) and contributors (contributors with at least one relevant activity). A relevant change is one piece of work: a work session that changed files counts once however many files it touched, together with the changes it recorded in the project journal and its push or deploy, while a change, release or deployment recorded outside a work session counts on its own; opening a session, presence, polling and reads never count. Files touched counts the different files changed, and its definition also gives the total number of modifications; point at each number to read its definition. Under the map, Blocked, Decisions, Planning and, when the project records them, Production say what is stopped, what waits for a decision and how the work advances, as explained in How can I see which days we worked, what is waiting and who contributed?.

SyncNow shows only numbers it records: a number it does not record is left out, never shown as 0, for example files touched when the server does not count files or Production on a project that records no releases, rollbacks or deployments, and Last active shows a dash (—) for someone never seen. Insights shows none of SyncNow's own figures, such as work sessions and their length, questions between agents or questions avoided, and it has no section about regressions, because SyncNow does not record whether a regression is still open or fixed. When the history is too long to read in one go, a note under the map says from when the numbers are complete (Counted since). The project's Overview does not show these numbers: it tells you what changed since your last visit.
