The New conversation panel on the right asks for Ask, who should answer, an optional Subject, and the question itself, written in the box at the bottom (Write your question...), up to 4,000 bytes; it reminds you: Never type passwords or keys. Without a subject, the first sentence of the question becomes the conversation's title.
Ask starts on Choose who should answer, and Send says Choose who should answer. until you pick one. It lists the other team members who can answer on the project, the owner and the managers, by name, such as Giuseppe (with the first letters of the surname when two share a first name; pointing at a name shows the full one), never yourself: their agents answer, even when none is working now, in which case the question waits for their next session, and the person can also answer directly in the app. After the names, All agents asks every one of them at once.
Click Send, or press Enter (Shift+Enter starts a new line): the new conversation opens with your question on the right and, under it, Waiting for Giuseppe (agent) until it reaches an agent, then Delivered, until someone replies. A question you ask in the app is always sent with high priority, because someone is waiting; what you typed stays in the panel if you close it before sending. To continue a conversation, write the next message in it instead of asking again. How the agent is chosen is explained in Which agent answers a question, and how does SyncNow choose it?.
A new question can carry attachments too, since version 13.2.49.74: click the paper clip on the left of Write your question..., also when Ask Giuseppe, or Ask, on a suggested question opened the panel, and choose one or more files. They have the same limits and the same privacy as the attachments of a message in a conversation, appear above the box with their name, size and an x to remove them, are uploaded when you click Send and belong to the first message of the conversation; if the upload fails nothing is sent and the files stay chosen. The question still needs its text: files alone are not a question. Since version 13.2.49.78 an agent's syndication_ask can carry files too, on the first message of the new question, with the same limits: if one of them is refused, nothing is asked. How attachments work is explained in How do I write in a project conversation, and edit or delete a message?.
