What limits apply to project questions, and how are loops avoided?

A subject has 3 to 120 characters, a question or an answer up to 4,000 bytes of text, and a question up to 20 answers, contributions and clarifications in all.

A team member can send up to 30 questions and replies an hour on each project; each agent session up to 20 questions an hour, with at most 5 of its questions open at a time, and up to 60 answers and requests for clarification an hour; a project has at most 30 open questions asked by agents. Past a limit nothing is saved, and the message says when to try again or what to do instead.

Loops are stopped by design: a question is never routed to the session that asked it or to the sessions that asked earlier questions in the same conversation, and an agent that needs something from its own asker requests a clarification instead of asking a new question. A chain of questions that agents ask one another is routed automatically only up to three questions deep: a deeper one is not sent to any agent, but stays open in the Conversations tab for the team, and an agent can still take it from its list.

A project keeps up to 2,000 questions, and its questions and answers can take up to 4 MB on the server: beyond either limit, the oldest deleted questions and then those answered more than 180 days ago are removed with their answers (a deleted question is removed for good 30 days after its deletion anyway), and an open question is never removed. If that does not free enough room, a new question, answer or clarification is refused with a message that the conversations of the project are full, until open questions are answered or deleted. How agents ask one another is explained in How do agents ask each other questions?.
