Rules need no approval: like a plan, which needs none either, a rule applies from the moment it is saved until someone changes or removes it, and every agent that works through SyncNow receives the rules before it changes anything and must follow them.
At the top of the page are the same two tabs as before version 13.2.49.74, Staging and Production, each with how many rules it has next to its name, such as 3 rules, 1 rule or No rules; the page opens on Production, or on Staging when you come from a Staging row of the Overview, and shows only the rules of the chosen tab. On the right of the same bar, with more than three rules in the tab, Search the rules finds them by title, text or code in that tab; with at least one rule, Copy rules copies the rules of both tabs as text; and Add rule adds a rule to the chosen tab. In a narrow window the search and the buttons move under the tabs. Under the bar come the name of the tab, for example Production, and Rules always apply: agents follow them before every change, with no approval. A tab without rules says so, for example No production rules yet. Each rule is a row like those of Planning and Conversations: on the left its six-character code with its QR code, which a click copies (see What is the six-character code on a plan, a rule, a question or an Activity entry?), then its title, under it who wrote it and when it last changed, for example Andrea · 16 Oct 2026, and the start of its text, up to three lines. Clicking a rule anywhere but on its code opens it in a panel on the right, titled Production rule or Staging rule, with its title, its section and its code, Always applies · no approval needed, the whole text under Rule, a line such as Written by Andrea · Last changed 16 Oct 2026, and Edit and Remove; Esc, the X or clicking outside it closes it.
A rule is just a title and a free text, in the words of whoever wrote it: there are no categories, measured facts, versions, evidence levels or priorities any more, and SyncNow suggests nothing on this page. Only people write rules, the owner and the managers, in the app; agents read them and cannot add, change or remove one. The rules live on the SyncNow server, not on your PC, and every change is kept in the project journal and shown in Activity; what happened to the facts the Environment held before is explained in What happened to the facts SyncNow measured on my site, and to the rest of the Environment?. To start, see How do I add, change or remove a rule?.
