A file you removed can linger in the list for a check or two before it disappears. That is SyncNow being careful, not confused.
What is happening
A "ghost" is an entry SyncNow expected to find but did not on the latest check. Instead of dropping it instantly - which could be a one-off listing hiccup - SyncNow waits to confirm the file is genuinely gone before removing it from the manifest.
Why the small delay
- FTP listings can briefly miss a file for transient reasons.
- Confirming across a few checks in a row avoids false "deleted" entries.
- The result is a timeline you can actually trust.
Once the file has been absent for several consecutive checks, SyncNow records the delete and purges it from the active list for good.
Good to know
This is purely a bookkeeping decision in SyncNow's own snapshot - remember, SyncNow never deletes your files. The file already left the server on its own; SyncNow is just deciding when it is safe to stop expecting it.
