Does it sync files?

How Observation Works

No. Despite the name, SyncNow never copies, moves, mirrors or overwrites your files. It only watches your server and notes what changed.

What this means for you

For each project you add, SyncNow observes your remote FTP server read-only and records what changed onto one shared activity timeline. Think of it as a flight recorder for your site, not a courier moving files around. Your live site is never touched by the app.

  • It does not download your files to your PC.
  • It does not upload, replace or delete anything on the server.
  • It does not keep two folders in sync with each other.

The only thing it ever writes is its own bookkeeping - a snapshot and a journal - inside a hidden .sync folder. Because watching is read-only, you can safely point it at a live production site with no risk of it changing anything.
