Can .sync be touched?

Safety Guards

No. The hidden .sync and .syncnow folders are off limits to assistants. SyncNow blocks any attempt to write to or tamper with them.

Why they are protected

These folders are SyncNow's own control area. They hold the snapshot and journal that record what changed on your project, plus the bridge details an assistant uses to connect. They belong to SyncNow, not to the work being done on your site.

If an assistant could edit them, it could rewrite history or quietly disable the very guards that keep you safe. So they are sealed: an assistant can do its normal work everywhere else, but these control folders are not part of the playground.

Tampering with .sync is treated as a grave act. The attempt is refused and logged, the assistant is banned from the project, and the slip is flagged for human review. This keeps your activity timeline honest and your guards intact.
