The minimum supported version is the oldest build SyncNow still allows to run; anything below it must update before continuing.
Over time, very old versions can fall out of step with the cloud or miss important fixes. To keep everyone safe and compatible, SyncNow defines a minimum supported version. If your installed build is below that line, the app updates itself to a current version first, rather than letting you continue on something too old.
How it works in practice
- SyncNow checks your version against the minimum during its normal update check against
www.syncnow.it. - If you are below it, the update is treated like a mandatory one and applied automatically.
- The download is SHA-256 verified first, and the update can roll back if needed.
The minimum version and the force-update mechanism work hand in hand. As long as you keep SyncNow running, automatic updates keep you comfortably ahead of the floor, so you will almost never hit it.
