To stop a session right away, revoke it. Revoking ends an assistant's turn immediately, even if it has not sent END.
Sometimes you do not want to wait. A task is stuck, a session looks stale, or you simply need the project back. Revoking is the manual override: it closes the turn at once, rotates the proxy password so the old one no longer works, and returns the project to Free.
When to revoke
- A session is clearly stuck or abandoned but has not expired yet.
- You need to take the turn yourself right now.
- Something looks wrong and you want to stop the assistant.
SyncNow can revoke too
Revocation is not only manual. SyncNow itself revokes a session after three light violations in that session and rotates the proxy password. More serious breaches, like a bypass attempt, reading secrets, or writing outside the project root, go further and can ban the actor from the project. Revoking is abrupt by design, so you may not get a changelog. A clean END is always preferable when there is a choice.
